Free plan: none. Free trial: 7 days. AI Agent: about $0.90 per resolved interaction on most plans. Shopify App Store rating: 4.3 from 706 reviews, as listed on the Shopify App Store in November 2026.
Where these numbers come from. The plan prices are from Gorgias's Shopify App Store listing as we recorded it on November 1, 2026. Gorgias's own pricing page did not display tier prices when we read it in November 2026, but its billing help article uses the same Basic figures (300 tickets for $60/month, $0.40 per extra ticket). On November 4 the App Store listing said the app "is not currently available on the Shopify App Store," so check Gorgias's pricing page or ask its sales team for current numbers.
What scales the price
Tickets, not agents. Gorgias's help center says you are charged "based on the number of tickets that you use," not team size. A ticket becomes billable once your helpdesk sends at least one message in it, whether from a person, a Rule or the AI Agent. Multiple messages in one ticket still count as one.
Things that don't count:
- Inbound messages you never reply to
- Reassignments, tags and internal notes
- Replies sent directly from Facebook or Instagram outside the helpdesk
- Chat campaigns the customer doesn't respond to
Seats. The App Store listing we recorded showed 3 agents on Starter and unlimited agents from Basic up. Gorgias's plan guide (updated May 14, 2026) instead lists 3 seats on Basic and unlimited from Pro. Confirm this before you pick Basic for a team larger than three.
Hidden and extra costs
1. Overage tickets. Overages are soft-capped: messages keep flowing and you are billed at the end of the cycle. The help center's example: 302 tickets on a 300-ticket plan costs $60.80. On Pro, the App Store listing showed $36 per extra 100 tickets, while the plan guide says $0.25 per extra ticket. Ask which applies to you.
2. Tickets that split. If a customer replies after 10 days of inactivity on email, or 3 days on chat, Voice, SMS and most social DMs, the reply opens a new billable ticket. Slow back-and-forth on returns can create more tickets than orders.
3. AI Agent fees. Gorgias's AI Agent pricing article (updated May 28, 2026) says:
- $0.90 per resolved interaction on most plans, Starter from $1.
- Monthly tiers include from 90 to 2,500+ interactions, with custom amounts for enterprise.
- Going over your AI tier costs $1.00 to $2.00 per interaction on monthly support-only plans, $0.83 to $1.67 on annual support-only plans, and $1.50 on Support + Shopping Assistant plans.
- You pay only for fully automated interactions. Handoffs to a human, unanswered emails and spam aren't billed as automated.
Gorgias's plan guide separately says the AI Agent "starts at $250/month." The two articles don't line up, so get a quote for your expected volume.
4. Double counting on AI tickets. The help center says a ticket the AI Agent resolves on its own can incur both a ticket fee and an automation fee. Budget for both. (Accounts created before May 28, 2025 that haven't moved to AI Agent stay on legacy billing, where each ticket counts toward one fee or the other.)
5. Voice and SMS. Both are add-ons with their own per-ticket allowances. The plan guide says Voice starts at $70/month plus usage, and SMS varies by country and volume. One ticket can count toward helpdesk, Voice and SMS usage at the same time.
6. Add-on billing cycle. The plan guide says add-ons are typically billed monthly even if your main plan is annual.
Worked cost examples
Published prices only. AI estimates use the $0.90 rate and assume your AI tier fits your volume.
Example 1: new store, 120 tickets a month, no AI.
- Starter: $10 + 70 × $0.40 = $38/month.
- Basic: $60/month.
- Starter wins until about 175 tickets a month.
Example 2: established store, 600 tickets a month, 150 AI resolutions.
- Basic: $60 + 300 × $0.40 = $180/month.
- AI Agent: 150 × $0.90 = $135/month.
- Total: about $315/month on monthly billing.
Example 3: larger brand, 3,000 tickets a month, 600 AI resolutions, annual billing.
- Pro: $3,600/year ($300/month) + 1,000 extra tickets. At $36 per 100, that's $360/month; at the plan guide's $0.25, it's $250/month.
- AI Agent: 600 × $0.90 = $540/month.
- Total: roughly $1,090 to $1,200/month.
- Advanced at $750/month on annual billing covers 5,000 tickets, so at 3,000 tickets compare it against Pro plus overages for your exact rate.
How to pay less
- Pay annually. Annual Basic, Pro and Advanced cost 10 times the monthly price, about 17% off. The plan guide says the discount applies to every plan except Starter.
- Pick the tier by break-even, not by features. Basic beats Starter above about 175 tickets. Pro beats Basic above about 1,050 tickets ($60 + 750 × $0.40 = $360).
- Don't answer spam from the helpdesk. Unanswered tickets aren't billable, so filter or close junk without replying.
- Use the trial with real data. The 7-day trial needs no credit card but is limited to 10 email ticket messages and you can't publish a Help Center, so use it to test workflows, not to estimate volume. Pull last month's ticket count from your current tool instead.
- Size the AI tier from your top requests. Count how many "where is my order?", cancellation and return requests you get. Those are what the AI Agent can resolve end to end.
When a cheaper alternative makes more sense
- Mostly live chat, small volume: TidioTidioAI chatbotsTidio combines live chat, email, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp in one inbox and adds Lyro, an AI agent that answers questions from your own content. Free plan, paid from $29/mo, 7-day trial.Click for Scout's full analysis has a free plan with 50 human conversations a month, and Lyro AI conversations don't use up your human quota. See Tidio pricing explained.
- Small fixed team, predictable bill: Re:amazeRe:amazeSupportRe:amaze is a helpdesk and live chat tool for online stores, priced mainly per team member, with an AI Agent included up to a set number of resolutions. Paid from $29/mo, 14-day trial.Click for Scout's full analysis has a flat Starter plan at $59/month for unlimited team members, capped at 500 responded conversations a month. Gorgias Basic at 500 tickets would be $60 + 200 × $0.40 = $140.
- Two agents, very high volume: ZendeskZendeskSupportZendesk is a customer service platform that puts email tickets, chat, messaging and phone support in one place. Paid from $25/mo, 14-day trial.Click for Scout's full analysis Suite Team is $69 per agent per month billed monthly, so two agents pay $138 regardless of ticket count. See Gorgias vs Zendesk.
Which one should you choose?
- Under ~175 tickets a month: Gorgias Starter, or Tidio if most conversations are chat.
- 175 to ~1,050 tickets: Gorgias Basic, after confirming its seat limit.
- 1,050 to 5,000 tickets: Gorgias Pro or Advanced, on annual billing.
- Small team, huge volume: price out Zendesk per agent.

Common questions
How much does Gorgias cost per month? From $10/month (Starter, 50 tickets) to $900/month (Advanced, 5,000 tickets), with custom Enterprise pricing. AI Agent, Voice and SMS are extra.
Does Gorgias charge per user? Mostly no. Price is based on billable tickets. Starter is limited to 3 agents, and Gorgias's own pages disagree on whether Basic has 3 seats or unlimited, so confirm before you buy.
What happens if I go over my ticket limit? Messages keep coming in and the extra tickets are billed at the end of the cycle. On Starter and Basic that's $0.40 per extra ticket.
Is the Gorgias AI Agent included? Gorgias's pricing page says AI Agent is available on every plan, but it is billed by resolved conversation, about $0.90 each on most plans. Tickets the AI resolves can also count as billable tickets.
Is there a Gorgias discount for annual billing? Yes. Annual plans cost 10 times the monthly price, roughly 17% off, on every plan except Starter. Add-ons are typically still billed monthly.
How we put this together
We did not test Gorgias hands-on. Prices and billing rules come from Gorgias's own pages, read in November 2026: its pricing page, its help center articles "How you're billed for using Gorgias" and the billing and usage index, its blog posts on choosing a plan (updated May 14, 2026) and AI Agent pricing (updated May 28, 2026), and its Shopify App Store listing (recorded November 1 to 3, 2026; shown as unavailable on November 4). Alternative prices come from Tidio's, Re:amaze's and Zendesk's pricing pages. Gorgias's sources disagree on some seat and overage details, which we've flagged above. Confirm current prices for your volume before you sign up.
