Best Popup App for Shopify: 4 Options Compared

For most Shopify stores, OptiMonk is the best popup app: it has a free plan for up to 10,000 pageviews a month, paid plans from $29/month, and an AI agent that builds and targets popups for you. Justuno is the pick if you want its team to run campaigns for you, and Wisepops fits high-traffic stores that want popups, web push and recommendations together. Privy is still sold on its own site, but its Shopify App Store listing currently says it is not available there.

Ratings as listed on the Shopify App Store in November 2026. Privy's listing currently says it is not available on the Shopify App Store, so there is no rating to quote. OptiMonk has a free plan but no free trial; the other three have trials but no free plan.

Note that these tools don't measure traffic the same way. OptiMonk, Privy and Wisepops count pageviews. Justuno counts monthly unique visitors, and one visitor usually views several pages. Check both numbers in Shopify analytics before comparing prices.

Our pick by store type

New or small store (under 10,000 pageviews a month): OptiMonk Free. It includes all features, unlimited campaigns and unlimited users on one domain. Move to Essential at $29/month when you pass 10,000 pageviews or want to remove OptiMonk branding.

Small store that wants popups and email in one place: we'd normally point to Privy, whose Email + SMS plan is $30/month for up to 1,500 mailable contacts. But its Shopify App Store listing currently says it is not available there, so it isn't one of our picks. If you're on Klaviyo or Omnisend already, use their built-in signup forms first, or pair OptiMonk Free with your email tool.

Store with steady traffic and no time to build campaigns: Justuno. Its Done-For-You plan is $299/month for up to 20,000 visitors, with a dedicated account manager and ongoing services.

High-traffic store that wants several on-site channels: Wisepops, at $299/month for up to 500,000 pageviews including web push and AI product recommendations.

OptiMonk

OptiMonk is a popup builder now centered on an AI agent. Its Shopify listing says you can "Chat with an AI agent to build fully custom, on-brand popups," and the agent can design, build and target them.

Free: 10,000 pageviews/month, 1 domain, all features, unlimited campaigns, unlimited users.
Essential: $29/month or $228/year. 20,000 pageviews, 2 domains, unbranded.
Growth: $99/month or $828/year. 100,000 pageviews, 4 domains.
Premium: $249/month or $2,148/year. 500,000 pageviews, 10 domains, a key account manager.

Other features: animated popups with motion backgrounds, an Insights feature where the agent reviews store data and suggests campaigns, A/B test ideas for headlines and offers, and an MCP integration so you can build and edit popups from an AI chat client such as Claude. Watch out: the jump from 20,000 to 100,000 pageviews is a jump from $29 to $99. We used the Shopify listing's prices and didn't check optimonk.com's pricing.

Justuno

Justuno is a popup and on-site messaging tool for collecting email and SMS signups and showing targeted offers.

Pricing (Shopify listing and Justuno's pricing page):

10K Lite: $59/month, up to 10,000 monthly unique visitors.
20K Lite: $99/month, up to 20,000 visitors. The Shopify listing includes free white-glove onboarding from this plan up (Justuno's own pricing page lists it on Lite too).
50K Lite: $199/month, up to 50,000 visitors.
100K Lite: $299/month, up to 100,000 visitors.
Done-For-You: $299/month on Justuno's website, up to 20,000 visitors, with ongoing services, a dedicated account manager, a personal Slack channel and a 30-day free trial.
Enterprise: custom pricing.

Annual billing saves 10%. Lite plans have a 14-day free trial.

Lite plan limits (Justuno's pricing page): 5 live workflows, 2 custom segments, 5 custom properties, 1 AI custom product recommendation and 3 team seats. Done-For-You and Enterprise make all of these unlimited.

Features: email and SMS popups including quizzes and surveys, flyouts, message bars and embedded promos, AI-driven timing, A/B testing, and the Spotlight add-on, which identifies anonymous visitors to feed abandonment flows. The listing names integrations with Attentive, Iterable, Klaviyo, Omnisend and Postscript.

Watch out: 5 live workflows on Lite is a real cap. Our fact sheet notes an extra fee past your visitor limit if traffic overages are enabled. The pricing page shows no price for Spotlight.

Privy

Privy is a popup, email and SMS tool for small ecommerce stores, and the only one here where you can buy popups alone or bundled with email.

Check this first: Privy's Shopify App Store listing currently says the app is "not currently available on the Shopify App Store." Its own pricing page still lists plans, but confirm with Privy how it connects to your Shopify store before you pay. That is why it isn't one of our picks.

Pricing (Privy's pricing page and help center):

Displays: from $24/month, up to 10,000 pageviews. Popups and forms only, tiered by average monthly pageviews; higher tiers weren't listed.
Email + SMS: $30/month for up to 1,500 mailable contacts, with unlimited email sends and 250 free SMS credits a month. Then $15 per 500 contacts from 1,501 to 2,000, and $15 per 1,000 contacts from 2,001 to 25,000.

Display features: templates, landing pages, embedded forms, A/B testing, spin-to-win, cart savers and cross-sell popups, multi-step forms and quizzes, and exit-intent popups. Collected contacts sync to Shopify, BigCommerce or Wix and selected platforms including Klaviyo.

Watch out: Privy bills on the highest number of mailable contacts in each billing cycle. The 15-day trial ends hard: Privy's help center says you can't use it after the trial unless you upgrade, existing displays are deactivated and active flows stop.

Wisepops

Wisepops covers popups, web push notifications and product recommendations, and suits higher-traffic stores.

Pricing: its Shopify listing shows one plan at $299/month or $2,990/year, for up to 500,000 pageviews a month, with a 14-day free trial. Wisepops' own website puts other tiers behind a demo booking.

Included: unlimited popup and notification campaigns, AI product recommendations, 140+ templates, web push notifications, A/B testing and a Klaviyo integration.

Watch out: $299/month is a lot for a store with modest traffic, and there's no cheaper Shopify plan listed. Its 4.9 rating also rests on only 71 App Store reviews, the fewest among the apps here with a confirmed rating.

What it costs at two traffic levels

Choose OptiMonk for most stores: free to start, low paid tiers, and an AI agent to build popups.
Choose Justuno if you want white-glove onboarding or a team to run campaigns for you.
Consider Privy only after confirming with Privy how it installs on Shopify, since its App Store listing currently says it isn't available there.
Choose Wisepops if you have high traffic and want popups, web push and recommendations from one vendor.

Is there a free popup app for Shopify? Yes. OptiMonk's free plan covers 10,000 pageviews a month on one domain, with all features and unlimited campaigns.

Which popup apps work with Klaviyo? All four list a Klaviyo connection: OptiMonk and Justuno on their listings or our fact sheets, Privy on its pricing page, and Wisepops on its Shopify listing.

Why do popup apps charge by pageviews or visitors? All four tie their price to how much traffic the popups run on, so a busier store pays more. OptiMonk, Privy (Displays) and Wisepops use pageviews; Justuno uses monthly unique visitors.

What happens when a Privy trial ends? Privy's help center says you can't use Privy after the 15-day trial unless you upgrade. Existing displays are deactivated and active flows stop.
